Our Curriculum

South Breeze School’s curriculum offers students a varied choice of subjects and flexibility in choosing their academic programmes to meet their individual goals. The academic year begins in August, and ends in June, in the following year. There are two terms in an academic year and two examinations are held in each academic year. Class tests are held regularly, and average marks of the tests are added to the examination marks so that each student’s performance can be carefully assessed. South Breeze School is noted for its academic vitality, its friendliness and openness.

Class sizes are not too big and the school has not added too many sections to each class believing in running a school that is not too large so that the personal touch is not lost. The curriculum leads its students with ease towards their IGCSE exams.  Strong emphasis is placed on selecting teaching materials and techniques that develop the thinking capacities of children and make them independent learners.  Subjects taught are English Language and Literature, Bangla, French, Mathematics, Integrated Science in Classes I to V, Physics, Chemistry and Biology from Class VI upwards; History, Geography, Accounting, Pure Maths, Bangladesh Studies, Human Biology, Religious Studies, Art, and Music, with about two Games classes a week.  The children are strongly encouraged to read both English and Bangla story books.  The school has a large library, and a fully equipped Science Laboratory and a Computer Science Laboratory in each campus.

The Alliance Francaise teaches the French classes in our own campus and prepares our students for the DELF ( Diplome d’etudes en langue francaise). This Examination is held at the Alliance Francaise and the internationally recognized certificates come from Paris, France.
